Sangam Kala Group is a prominent non-commercial registered group. This is a cultural group engaged in the promotion of India's artistic and cultural traditions.
The Group recognised that young music talents are like the uncut diamonds that need the much required stage opportunity and recognition. Throught its 55 regional chapters, Sangam Kala Group conducts Annual All-India Light Music (Vocal) Competition covering every major town of this vast nation - India.
Founded in 1974 by music and art enthusiasts, the Group set forth its main objective as, 'To provide cultural affinity and the channel to artists for their flow of talents in the form of dance, drama and music.'
The Group started in a humble way by organising plays that had one common theme social reform. The plays served dual purpose of not only making audience think about subjects on social reforms but also brought to light amateur talents that otherwise had no opportunities to become state artists.
In 1977, the Group organised its First All-India Light (Vocal) Competition in the memory of the immortal singer Master Madan and his elder brother Master Mohan were Durbar musicians of His Highness, the Raja Sahib Bahadur of keonthol State (Simla Hills). Master Madan, when he died at the tender age of fourteen, had mastered the art of music. His enchanging melodies left the audience spell bound. The Group was inspired by Master Madan and organised music competitions to spot amateur talents, laying special emphasis on singing talen amongst below fourteen age group children.
Thirty years have gone by & the group has been serving the cause in its own humble way, the cause that has spread country wide and beyond Indian borders as musc has no boundaries. We have a vision to establish a "Sangeet Gaon" which would be an ideal paradise for musical & cultural activities.
I will be failing in my duty if I don't thank our sponsor M/s Hero Honda Motors & other Co-sponsers viz. LIC, ONGC, NHPC, Le Merdien without their support the cause would have not been served in its present magnitude.
